Kristian Mølholm Larsen - Composer and multichannel sound artist
Working with composition,
performance, installation and sound
art danish born artist Kristian Mølholm
Larsen (1996-), unfolds surreal tales
about technology and the human
condition.
He is searching for the organic and authentic hiding in the technological extensions of our bodies and minds. Drawn to the cynic deconstruction of authentic sound material, new worlds, monuments and organisms are created with a purpose of questioning normative conclusions about the human relation to existence. His method is investigative and is based upon a curious approach to the perceived world. Sounds are found in the nature and brought and given new life through electronic processing. Sounds are split into atoms and thrown around between authentic and inauthentic worlds.
His latest work “inner voices so invasive" is an avant-garde auditory journey that harnesses the power of the human voice and its movements to create a vast and dynamic musical environment. The performance is staged in a multi-channel sound setup, utilizing eight speakers to manipulate depth, presence, and absence of various sonic elements. ‘Inner Voices So Invasive’ finds its foundation in the borderland between the meaning and meaninglessness of language, casting a critical eye on the structure of language and the embedded structures that linguistic formulations uphold. The work treats the precision, discourse, and construction of language with the aim of resetting the relationship to language.
